In this article, I’ll be showing you the step by step method you can use to easily connect with your website visitors and customers directly on your website with Facebook messaging chat feature, why it’s important to have this running for your business.
Whether you have an online store or a business website, it’s sometimes challenging to connect with your website visitors. Most especially if your website has tons of traffics daily, you might want to find a way to connect with everyone because oftentimes, some of your customers might have an inquiry to make or a request to ask from you directly. Having a LEAVE A MESSAGE feature most times might not quite serve as a better option for most customers as statistics show that almost 85% of customers love to receive a quick response to their requests or inquiries in less than an hour (that means providing overall better customer satisfaction).
The challenging part most times for customers is not knowing whether their complaints or requests will be carefully taken care of. One thing you must realize is that it’s not all about providing your customer’s the best service, you’ve got to provide to make sure their needs are met on time.
With the Facebook messaging tool, you can easily connect with all your customers or website visitors. That means, customers can easily chat directly from your website and you can easily respond to their messages on the go with the Facebook messenger. This had been one of the most advanced recent tools developed by Facebook to help businesses easily connect with customers and clients on their websites.
To get started, you need to have a Facebook business page set up. If you don’t know how to do that, you can leave a comment below and I can create a post on that on my next blog feed. After having a Facebook business page, open the business page, and click on the page settings.
From the page settings, Click on Messaging.
Note: that you must be a page Admin before you can have access to set up the Facebook messaging feature on your website.
Scroll down and click on Add Messenger to your website. Then click on Get Started.
The next thing is to set up The Chat Plugin. You can select the Chat default language e.g English(US) and Setup the Greeting message. You can either compose a custom greeting message to greet people before they send your Page a message or you can leave it to Facebook default greeting message.
Click on Next and set up the Appearance (Custom chat color). You can use your brand color to make the chat look more professional.
On the next page, Facebook will ask you to add your website domain name so that these domains will be able to display the Chat Plugin directly from your website. Simply copy your website domain name address and paste it in the field. Note that you can only add your primary domain URL not a Secondary or Sub-domain link. Click on the Save button and Facebook will try to verify your URL. Once it’s verified, Facebook will tell you that your domain is approved.
Finally, Facebook will give you a code to install or embed directly on your website. You’ll have to Insert the code directly after the opening <body> tag on each page where you want the plugin to appear on your website.
HOW TO INSTALL THE FACEBOOK CHAT MESSENGER CODE ON WORDPRESS
To install on your WordPress website, you’ll have to login to your WordPress Dashboard. Click on the Add New Plugin and search for “Insert Headers and Footers”. Install and Activate the plugin.
After installation, Navigate to the settings menu and click on the Insert Headers and Footers plugin. Now, copy and paste the Facebook chat plugin code in the Script in body column and save it.
The chat plugin should start working on your website.
Note, this method is recommended if you’re not a developer or you have basic knowledge with coding. But if you have vast experience in coding, all you have to do is to simply copy and embed the Facebook chat plugin code directly on the website theme file.
HOW TO INSTALL THE FACEBOOK CHAT MESSENGER ON SHOPIFY
To install the Facebook chat messenger on your shopify store, all you have to do is to simply login to your Shopify store and install the Facebook messenger app on your Shopify store and set up the integration. Your chat plugin will start working.
